(More customer reviews)Very nice inexpensive system. Just make sure it's powerful enough for your needs. Pay special attention to how high it needs to lift water. The rated throughput at different heights are (there's a table with this info on the box), in gal/hr: 2000 @ 0', 1800 @ 5', 1200 @ 10', 375 @ 15', 0 @ 16' (max lift).
I picked one up on sale at a local Menards for $200. It already saved my basement several times during brief (1-4 hrs) power outages.
You will need to buy a battery separately. I recommend a maintenance-free sealed deep cycle one, so you don't have to keep opening the box to check and top up the acid. Do not use an automotive battery, even though the description says that's what you need. Again, Menards had a nice 75AH maintenance-free battery very reasonably priced.
